YEAR 7

Mathematics curriculum intent in Year 7:

To deepen and extend the mathematical learning achieved in Primary School, further developing their understanding of the basic skills across the five areas of Mathematics (number, ratio and proportion, algebra, data handling and geometry).

Mathematical fluency, reasoning, problem solving and communication skills will be developed and practised in every lesson, preparing them for application to real life contexts, the wider curriculum and in preparation for mathematics GCSE examinations in future years.

In order to facilitate this, we expect the children to have a full set of equipment (pen, pencil, ruler, eraser and scientific calculator for every lesson).

We will be setting work on MS Teams and Mathswatch (each child has their own log on) to support work in class.
