The Year 11 (and one Y10) Basketball team were outstanding yesterday in the Oldham School Basketball Tournament.

The boys, led by their captain; Fortune were amazing throughout the tournament, defeating allcomers in the group stages. They beat Crompton House, Saddleworth, Hulme, Oasis Academy and Radclyffe on the way to the final.

The final against Saddleworth was a tense affair with the boys leading by 2 points going into the final 20 seconds of the match. Unfortunately for us, Saddleworth equalised and the match finished in a draw. This meant the game went into overtime and a Golden Basket Shoot Out (The next basket wins). We had an opportunity to score but missed our chance. Saddleworth took their opportunity and came out on top.

It was a great performance from the lads.
